May started off busy for Delmar Fire Department. Just before 11, Sussex EOC alerted 74 and Station 81 for a gas leak at a local auto repair shop. Units found an active gas leak on the roof.

Shortly after 3 during the school rush hour, Wicomico Central alerted DFD for a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Bi State Blvd and Walnut Street. A total of 4 pediatric patients would be transported to a local hospital. 2 other patients refused treatment at the scene. Before clearing the accident, a second call was dispatched for Lines Down one block away from the crash. At 5:37pm, units were heading back to the Delaware Side for a grill on fire. At approximately 8:30pm Delmar was dispatched to assist Salisbury Fire Dept with a large woods fire at the end of Dorsey Lane.
