Apartment fire on Bi-State Boulevard

Stations 74, 2 and 5 were alerted for an apartment fire on Bi-State Blvd on the Maryland side. Delmar Engine-Tanker 74-2 arrived to find a single story apartment building with smoke showing from a single apartment. 74-2’s crew stretched a bumper line into the apartment and found a busted water pipe had contained a fire in the kitchen appliances. Salisbury Truck 1 and Delmar Truck 74 crews assisted 74-2’s crew inside with overhaul and ventilation. There was no extension into the other apartments. One cat was located in the apartment with no injuries and was reunited with the owner. Tanker 74 staged on the roadway. Hebron Engine-Tanker 5 was diverted to stand-by at Delmar Station 74. Units on scene: Delmar Engine-Tanker 74-2, Truck 74-4, Tanker 74-5, Traffic Control 74-9, Salisbury Truck 1 and Paramedic 2.
