On Saturday, December 20th, 2025, Delmar Fire Department was alerted for a vehicle accident with exposures at a salvage yard on Whitesville Road. Station 74 had two staffed crews and responded immediately. Car 74 with Chief 74 arrived to find a vehicle on fire at the rear of the complex. As 74-1 was finding the best route to the vehicle at the muddy lot, a worker at the facility was able to pick the vehicle up with a piece of heavy machinery and bring it out from the rear. Crews from Engine 74-1 and Engine Tanker 74-2 were able to extinguish the fire quickly. Crews operated on scene for approximately 30 minutes, with an additional hour of clean up when returning.
