First due church fire in Delmar

Just after 03:00 hours; Sussex Box Alarm 74-3, commercial building fire in a church in Delmar. Stations 74 Delmar, 81 Laurel, 2 Salisbury and 14 Sharptown were on the initial dispatch. 74 Command arrived on-scene and found fire showing on Side D of the structure. Delmar Engine 74-1 was the first arriving engine company and began fire suppression along with Salisbury Truck 1 which took the first due truck company assignment. Sharptown Truck 14, Engine-Tanker 1402 and Laurel Tower 81 arrived next and assisted interior firefighting crews. Salisbury Engine 16 was also requested to the scene. Hebron Fire Dept provided a fire stand-by crew on Engine 507 at Delmar fire station. Units operated on-scene for approximately 3 hours. Scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
