Today many Fire and EMS agencies from around the mid-Atlantic region travelled to the City of Baltimore to provide coverage in the City while Baltimore firefighters attended the funeral for their 3 fallen comrades. Delmar Fire Dept were among those who handled emergency calls for service today. Engine 74-1 responded from Delmar, leaving just after 3:30am in the morning. Engine 74-1 was not assigned a specific firehouse to cover. Engine 74-1 ran 4 calls; one medical assist, one Automatic Fire Alarm at Johns Hopkins Hospital and two fires. The first fire was in a school and involved two classrooms on fire. Delmar Engine 74-1, District of Columbia Engine 6, Kentland Engine 833 and Montgomery County Truck 734 responded. The second fire was initially dispatched as a smoke investigation and responding units discovered a small fire in the floor boards of a house. Montgomery County Truck 734 and Delmar Engine 74-1 handled that call. Engine 74-1 has concluded their service in Baltimore and has returned home, going in quarters around 9:00pm.
