Appliance fire upgraded to working kitchen fire in Delmar

Station 74 Delmar was initially dispatched single station response for a reported appliance fire in a residence, in the Wood Creek neighborhood in Maryland. 74 Command responded with 74-17 (J. Elliott) and Engine 74-1responded with 4 firefighters. 74 Command arrived to find smoke showing from a single story residence. The incident was determined to be a working kitchen fire. The call was upgraded which added Station 2 Salisbury, Station 5 Hebron and Station 81 Laurel. Engine 74-1's crew arrived and a two man crew pulled an inch and 3/4 hose line through the front door of the house and quickly suppressed the kitchen fire. Truck 74 responded and laid a 3" supply hose line from a near-by hydrant. Truck 74 along with Salisbury Truck 2 assisted with ventilation. Laurel Engine 81-4 was diverted to cover up at Station 74. Hebron Engine 507 was also responding and placed in service. No injuries.
