MVC w/ entrapment US 13 near Winner Blvd

Shortly before 7am Delmar Fire Dept was dispatched for a Motor Vehicle Collision with entrapment in Maryland, northbound US 13 near Winner Blvd. Rescue 74, Paramedic A-74, Paramedic C-74, Traffic Control 74-9 and Salisbury Truck 2 responded. Units arrived to find a two vehicle collision involving a dump truck and cargo transit van. The driver of the cargo van required extrication and Rescue 74 utilized rescue tools to free the patient. One high priority trauma patient was transported by A-74 and one low priority patient was transported by C-74. Northbound US 13 was closed while rescue and emergency medical crews worked.
While still working this scene, a second traffic collision occurred in the southbound lanes, opposite the first accident. That collision involved a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles. Delmar Police and Fire Dept personnel repositioned and mitigated that incident, which required closing southbound US 13. Two low priority patients were transported from that incident.
