Back-to-back MVC's, one fatal

Delmar Fire Dept responded to two Motor Vehicle Collision calls back-to-back on Friday evening, August 4. The first call was on the Maryland side, northbound Ocean Highway (US 13) near the Hardees restaurant. That collision involved two vehicles, with two patients being transported to the hospital.

The second incident occurred a short time later on the Delaware side, at the intersection of Whitesville Road and Pepperbox Road. This was a very serious accident involving two vehicles with multiple entrapment and one fatality. A total of 6 high priority patients were transported to area hospitals. Delmar Fire Dept transported two patients, Laurel transported one, Gumboro transported one, Parsonsburg transported one and Delaware State Police Medevac Helicopter Trooper 2 transported one. One person was deceased at the scene.
