Large fire in Mardela Springs

Delmar Fire Dept assisted Mardela Springs Fire Dept on a chicken house fire this morning. The large chicken house was being used for storage and contained a heavy fire load. Multiple fire departments from Wicomico County, Dorchester County and Sussex County battled the blaze for 6 hours. Delmar responded with Engine-Tanker 74-2, Tanker 74-5 and Brush 74-0.

Fire Dept's on-scene: Mardela Springs, Hebron, Sharptown, West Side, Delmar, Vienna, Linkwood-Salem, El Dorado-Brookview and Laurel. Additionally, several other fire departments provided Engine stand-bys, including Gumboro and Blades.
