Lightning strike causes first due attic fire

Delmar, Salisbury and Hebron Fire Dept's were alerted for a house fire on E. East Street during a thunderstorm on Monday evening. The storm featured periods of intense cloud-to-ground lightning and one strike started an attic fire. Delmar Engine 74-1 was the first engine to arrive. The homeowner knocked down the fire with two extinguishers. There were no injuries.
